The FreeBSD Foundation

The FreeBSD Foundation is a US-based non-profit dedicated to supporting, promoting, and building the open source FreeBSD operating system and community worldwide. Donations are accepted from individuals and businesses to fund development projects, advocacy efforts, and community-building activities. The Project benefits from funding for operating system enhancement projects, infrastructure support, and security efforts. Advocacy and community building activities consist of content, events, and digital platforms to educate and engage with the community. In addition, the Foundation represents the FreeBSD Project in executing contracts, license agreements, copyrights, trademarks, and other legal arrangements that require a recognized legal entity.

Electronic Frontier Foundation Inc

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is the leading nonprofit organization defending civil liberties in the digital world. EFF is an essential champion of user privacy, free expression, and innovation through impact litigation, policy analysis, grassroots activism, and technology development, and has been since our founding in 1990. Our staff of 100—including lawyers, activists and technologists—works to ensure that our rights and freedoms are enhanced and protected as our reliance on technology grows worldwide. EFF works on issues at the local, state, federal, and international levels. We are supported by over 30,000 members worldwide.
